Texas Instruments offers its ADS7924, 2.2V, 12-bit, 4-channel micro-power ADC with I2C interface

     The Texas Instruments ADS7924 is a four-channel, 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with an I(2)C interface. The ADS7924 features a low-power ADC core that supports low-power operation, as well as a flexible measurement sequencer that essentially eliminates power consumption between conversions, forming a complete monitoring system for power-critical applications such as battery-powered devices and energy collection systems.

     The ADS7924 features dedicated data registers and an onboard programmable digital threshold comparator for each input. You can programmatically generate alarm conditions for interrupts. The combination of data buffering, programmable threshold comparisons, and alarm interrupts minimizes the host microcontroller time required to supervise the ADS7924.

     The ADS7924 is a small, 3 mm x 3 mm QFN and is fully specified for operation in the industrial temperature range -40°C to 85°C. The four-channel input multiplexer (MUX) is routed via an external pin, allowing the use of a common signal conditioning circuit between the MUX and the ADC, thereby reducing the overall number of components. Low-power ADCs use analog to provide a reference and can acquire and convert signals as little as 10 μs. The onboard oscillator eliminates the need to provide a master clock.
