The Bourns fly-back power transformer effectively improves DC/DC power conversion efficiency in isolated mode

Bourns, the world's leading manufacturer of electronic components, announced the launch of a new product for the fly-back power transformer production line. The Bourns SM13117EL model provides DC/DC power conversion in isolated mode and supports IEEE 802.3af PoE receiver (PD) and pulse width modulation (PWM) controller applications.

The Bourns SM13117EL fly-back transformer features 13W output power (36-72 VDC/ 250 kHz input, 12 VDC/1.08 amp output) and 1.5k Vrms isolation voltage. This compact PoE fly-back transformer also offers a wide operating temperature range (-40 to +125°C), low leakage, and excellent EMI characteristics. To ensure safe operation, its electrical insulation complies with UL 1446 Class B (130°C) insulation systems. The transformer bracket (Bobbin) uses UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.

Bourns' latest fly-back power transformers are suitable for a wide range of POE-powered power conversion solutions, including VoIP phones, wireless access points, webcams and integrated PoE PD and PWM controllers supplied by leading IC manufacturers.
