The MAX34427 and MAX34417 components of Analog Devices are configured and monitored through the standard I2C/SMBus serial interface

     ADI's MAX34427 and MAX34417 Power accumulators are current, voltage and power monitors specifically designed to determine system power consumption. Both devices have a very wide dynamic range (20,000:1) to accurately measure power consumption in such systems. The MAX34417 uses a standard I2C/SMBus serial interface to configure and monitor it. Unidirectional current sensor realizes high precision high voltage side operation under low full scale detection voltage.

     The MAX34427 Shield Board Evaluation Kit (MAX34427SHLD#) provides the hardware and software graphical user interface (GUI) needed to evaluate the MAX34427, a SMBus dual-channel, high-dynamic range current, voltage and power accumulator. It is a fully assembled and tested PCB. The shield is powered by a single power source (either USB or external). The device is accessed via the I2C serial interface provided by the MAX32625PICO board, which is connected to the PC via a USB port and micro-USB cable.

     The MAX34417 Evaluation Kit (MAX34417EVKIT#) provides the hardware and software GUI needed to evaluate the MAX34417 SMBus four-channel, high dynamic range power accumulator. The evaluation kit includes an evaluation board with MAX34417ENE+ installed and a micro-USB cable for communicating with the PC.
