ADI's MAX77857 is a high performance step-boost converter for systems requiring a wide input voltage range (2.5V to 16V). It has A switching current of 7 A and can provide A maximum output current of 6 A in step-down mode and 4 A in step-up mode (boost ratio ≤ 1.3). It operates in PWM mode and uses automatic frequency hopping mode to improve light load efficiency.

     ADI's MAX77857 is an efficient and high-performance buck boost converter for systems requiring a wide input voltage range (2.5 V to 16 V). It has a switching current of 7 A. It can provide a maximum output current of 6 A in the step-down mode and 4 A in the step-up mode (step-up ratio ≤ 1.3). It works in PWM mode and adopts automatic frequency hopping mode to improve light load efficiency.


     The output voltage can be dynamically adjusted through the I2C serial interface. When using the internal feedback resistor, the default output voltage is 5 V. When using an external feedback resistor, the default output voltage can also be configured to any voltage between 3 V and 15 V.


     The use of external feedback resistors allows a wider range of output voltages and customizable output voltages at start-up. The SEL pin supports programming four I2C interface slave addresses, four switching current limit thresholds, and selecting external or internal feedback resistors with a single external resistor. Different switching current limit thresholds allow the use of smaller sizes and smaller external components optimized for specific applications.


    I2C serial interface is optional, allowing dynamic control of output voltage, slew rate of output voltage change, switching current limit threshold, switching frequency and forced PWM mode operation. The I2C programming setting takes precedence over the RSEL decoding setting.


    The MAX77857 Evaluation Kit (EV Kit) is a fully assembled and tested printed circuit board (PCB) used to demonstrate the MAX77857. The factory configuration of the evaluation board is internal feedback, and the default startup output voltage is 5 V. Other starting voltage can be realized through external feedback resistor. The output voltage can be dynamically adjusted through the I2C serial interface.
