Renesas Electronics has expanded its 32-bit RA mcu family with the addition of two new groups based on the Arm Cortex-M33 core and the adoption of the Arm TrustZone technology. The new 100MHz RA4E2 group and 200MHz RA6E2 group have been optimized to provide best-in-class power efficiency without compromising performance. With 128KB and 256KB flash options and 40KB SRAM, the new group combines a wealth of connectivity options including on-chip CAN FD, USB, QSPI, SSI, and I3C interfaces, and provides an easy upgrade path for other members of the RA family. They are ideal for high-precision applications in small packages, including sensing, gaming, wearables and appliances.
These devices are the most cost-effective members of the RA family of integrated CAN FDS. They offer small package options, including the space-saving 4mm x 4mm 36-pin BGA and 5mm x 5mm 32-pin QFN, to meet the requirements of cost-sensitive and space-constrained applications. In addition, the low power consumption of the new devices saves energy, enabling the final product to contribute to a more environmentally friendly environment.
All RA devices are supported by Renesas Flexible Software Package (FSP), which includes efficient drivers and middleware to simplify communication implementation and improve peripheral functionality. The GUI of FSP simplifies and speeds up the development process. It allows flexibility in the use of legacy code, as well as ease of compatibility and scalability with other families of devices. Designers using FSP also have access to the full Arm ecosystem and the company's extensive partner network, providing a wide range of tools to help speed time to market.
