
Powerbox has announced the release of a new 700W power supply, the OFI700A, for industrial applications. The OFI700A is optimized for conducting cooling to operate efficiently in the substrate temperature range from -40 ° C to +95 ° C without the use of a fan for cooling. Universal input voltages 85 to 264VAC, with power factor correction (PFC), can provide 12V, 28V (adjustable to 24V) or 48V DC output, plus a 12V auxiliary output power supply.
In many industrial applications, the cooling of cooling components depends on the use of fans and blowers, but in some applications, active ventilation is not possible or even permitted. In harsh environments or in applications requiring high levels of reliability, fans and blowers are not permitted and all possible risk of failure must be eliminated. For the comfort and health of employees, equipment installed in monitoring rooms or offices is not allowed or needs to be limited in the amount of noise it produces, such as sealed boxes for laser cutting, which is increasingly required
Conducted cooling requires very specific layout practices, and the PRBX OFI700A is designed to ensure optimal heat transfer from the cooling component to the substrate, providing a high level of efficiency at substrate temperatures ranging from -40 ° C to +95 ° C. Depending on the assembly method and overall cooling conditions, derating work may occur as specified in the technical documentation.
To cover a wide range of application requirements, the OFI700A has a universal input voltage range of 85 to 264VAC. The power supply includes a power factor correction circuit with a factor of 0.95/0.92 (110VAC/230VAC). For applications that use DC power, such as mining equipment, the OFI700A operates at a DC voltage of 120V to 350V.
The OFI700A is available in three different single-output DC voltage models, 12V/58.4A, 28V/25A and 48V/14.6A. The output voltage can be adjusted using the potentiometer provided. For example, the 28V output can be adjusted to 22.4V to 33.6V, covering applications with 24V output. An auxiliary output of 12V/0.1A is also provided.
For applications requiring 1+1 redundancy, the OFI700A can be used in parallel with additional diode protection. Adding diodes for redundant use is the simplest solution, but it will increase the power loss, depending on the output current, up to 30W. Therefore, to maintain high efficiency when operating in redundant mode, the 700A version of "O Select" has ORing circuits with deployable high performance FET technology. In this version, the power loss is limited to less than 1.5W.
For safety, the input/output isolation voltage of the OFI700A is 3000VAC and the input/ground isolation voltage is 2000VAC. The output to ground isolation voltage is 500VAC. Power supply with over-current protection self-recovery function, over-voltage and overheating protection.Auxiliary functions, namely: remote control, output voltage sensing, DC-OK, inverter Operating mode (IOG), and auxiliary 12V, can be easily accessed through connectors on OFI700A version.
OFI700A passes the shock and vibration tests specified in MIL-STD-810H. In this regard, the test water of the product was well above normal operating conditions, 20G higher than the vibration level during transport. The open frame size of the OFI700A is 126 x 38 x 250mm (4.96 x 1.5 x 9.84 in) and the maximum weight is 0.95kg. A metal case version is available, adding only 2mm height and 150g weight (option N).OFI700A is certified UL62368-1, C-UL (equivalent to CAN/CSA-C22.2 No.62368-1) and EN62368-1. The OFI700A series has a three-year warranty and complies with European RoHS, REACH and low voltage directives, bearing the UL, CE and UKCA marks.
