The Raspberry Pi module is equipped with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX708 camera module

     Raspberry Pi's Camera Module 3 is a 12-megapixel Sony IMX708 camera module. It has improved low light sensitivity, high dynamic range (HDR) support, and electric autofocus. Camera Module 3 comes in two types, visible light and infrared sensitive (NoIR) only, and offers either standard (76 degree) or wide Angle (120 degree) lenses.

     This is an improvement over the Camera Module 2 (with the 8-megapixel Sony IMX219 camera module) and the initial camera module (with the 5-megapixel OmniVision OV5647 sensor).

     Raspberry PI has also released the second version of their High Quality (HQ) camera. Like the initial version, the second version is built around the Sony IMX477 sensor module, but has M12 lens interface hardware so that customers can use M12 type lenses instead of the C or CS type lenses used in the first version. In addition to the HQ camera, the Raspberry Pi offers a 5-megapixel 25mm lens, a 12-megapixel 2.7mm wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel 8mm lens for the M12 camera.
