The ST Microcontroller STM32H5 Discovery Suite accelerates the development of secure, intelligent and connected devices

     STMicroelectronics has released a feature-rich STM32H5 microcontroller (MCU) development board. The STM32H5 microcontroller is ideal for the development of high-performance data processing and advanced security applications, suitable for the development of a variety of applications, such as smart sensors, smart home appliances, industrial controllers, networking devices, personal electronics and medical devices.

     The STM32H573I-DK Discovery Suite enables developers to explore the full range of features integrated with the STM32H5, such as analog peripherals, timers, ST ART(Adaptive Real-Time) Accelerator ™, media interfaces and math accelerators for evaluation of industrial programmable logic controllers (PLC), motor drivers, and other applications. As well as new designs for smart controllers for home appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines, other potential applications include alarm controllers, communication hubs and smart lighting controls.

     The STM32H573I-DK Discovery Kit is a versatile development board with an STM32H5 microcontroller, color touch screen, digital interface microphone, and network interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi®. There are also audio codecs and flash memory on the board, as well as a row of pins for connecting the expansion board to the child board.

     To simplify the development process, the STM32CubeH5 MCU package incorporates all software components needed to develop applications on the STM32H5, including code samples and application code. The package is all integrated into the STM32Cube ecosystem and includes additional software to aid application development. St also provides the MCU configuration and initial tool STM32CubeMX.

     Launched in March 2023 with an Arm® Cortex-M33 embedded processor core running at 250MHz, the STM32H5 is ST's first microcontroller to support the ST Secure Manager system-on-chip security solution. The MCU integrates Arm TrustZone® security technology with ST's STM32Trust trusted framework to provide developers with trusted storage, encryption, authentication and update capabilities. The product also includes embedded hardware encryption accelerators with side channel protection, focused on market-recognized security certifications, PSA Certified Level 3 and GlobalPlatform SESIP3.
