The TDK Lambda provides 2500 W, 1 U high industrial power for communication with the PMBus

     TDK Lambda Corporation has announced the launch of TDK-Lambda brand RFE2500 series AC/DC power supplies. The RFE series delivers up to 2500 W of output power in a low-profile 1u package with rugged screw terminals and busbar connections. These industrial supplies are ideal for use in many applications requiring reliable 12 V, 24 V, or 48 V batch power supplies.

     Operating efficiencies of 90-93% minimize waste heat loss and simplify cooling requirements for the system. The RFE2500 has a universal input of 85 to 265 V(AC) and applications include communications, factory automation, test, measurement, and broadcast/RF amplifiers.

     The RFE2500 features AC failure, DC good, remote on/off, remote induction, 12 V 0.5 a auxiliary power supply, +/-20% output voltage regulation (via front panel potentiometer, external resistance or 0-5 V signal) and overcurrent set point programming. Up to eight units can be connected in parallel for higher power, and an internal annular field effector allows redundant operation.

     The unit can operate at full load at ambient temperatures up to 50°C and deliver 50% of the load at 70°C. The case measures 107 x 41 x 345 mm, making it suitable for 1-u high shelf systems and weighing only 2.5 kg. Cooling is provided by two internal temperature-controlled fans to reduce noise.

     Models with the "/S" suffix include optional I2C/PMBus serial communication ports for remote programming output voltage and remote on/off. In addition, the output voltage, output current, internal temperature and status signals can be monitored.

     Input-output isolation is 3 kV(AC), all models are UL/CSA 60950-1 certified, IEC/EN 60950-1 certified, and carry the CE mark for low voltage and RoHS2 instructions. All units comply with EN55011/EN55022-B conducted emissions (Class A radiation) and IEC 61000-3-2 harmonics and IEC 61000-4 immunity standards.
