     Texas Instruments' TPS7A39 device is a double-monolithic, high-Psrr, plus/minus low-dropout (LDO) regulator capable of delivering (and dropping) current up to 150 mA. The regulated output can be independently and externally adjusted to either symmetric or asymmetric voltages, making the device an ideal bipolar power source for signal conditioning.

     The TPS7A39's positive and negative outputs track each other in proportion during startup to alleviate float conditions and other power sequence issues common in two-track systems. The negative output can be adjusted to 0 V, extending the common model range of the single-supply amplifier. The TPS7A39 also features a high PSRR to eliminate power noise, such as switching noise, that can compromise signal integrity.

     Both regulators are controlled by a positive logic enable pin for interface with standard digital logic. The capacitor programmable soft start function controls impulse current and start time. The internal reference voltage of the TPS7A39 can be overridden with an external reference voltage for precise output, output voltage margin, or tracking of other power sources. In addition, the TPS7A39 has a buffered reference output that can be used as a voltage reference for other components in the system.

     These features make the TPS7A39 a powerful, simplified solution for power operational amplifiers, digital to analog converters (DACs), and other precision analog circuits.
