The Texas Instruments UCC27284 High voltage gate driver can drive high - and low-side N-channel Fets for synchronous step-down or half-bridge construction

     The Texas Instruments UCC27284 is an N-channel MOSFET driver with a switching node (HS) rated for 100v(Max). It allows control of two n-channel MosFeTs in topologies based on half-bridge or synchronous step-down configurations. 3a peak source and sink current have low pull-up/pull-down resistance, enabling UCC27284 to drive a high-power MOSFET with minimal switching loss during the MOSFET Miller platform transition.

     The input is independent of the power supply voltage, allowing the driver to be used with both analog and digital controllers. If desired, the two inputs and outputs can overlap in applications such as secondary side full bridge synchronous rectification. Input pins and HS pins can tolerate significant negative voltage, improving the robustness of the system. Enable and disable functions provide additional system flexibility by reducing the power consumption of gate drivers and responding quickly to fault events within the system. 5v undervoltage locking (UVLO) allows the system to operate at lower bias voltages, which are necessary for many high-frequency applications, and improves system efficiency in some operating modes.

     The small propagation delay and delay matching specifications minimize the dead-time requirement, further improving efficiency. UVLO is provided for both high - and low-side driver stages, forcing a low output if the V(DD) voltage falls below a specified threshold. Integrated bootstrap diodes eliminate the need for external discrete diodes in many applications, saving board space and reducing system costs. The UCC27284 comes in a small package that supports high density design.
