The Vishay AC and AC-AT 5 W axial cement winding resistor additions provide excellent pulse resistance

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc., today announced the addition of surface mount (SMD) pin bending options for pickup and drop machining - AC05 WSZ, AC05-AT WSZ and AC05-NI WSZ - to its AC and AC-AT series axial cement winding resistors 5 W devices. WSZ guide devices that can be used as surface mount components.

     The Vishay Draloric AC05 WSZ and AEC-Q200 certified AC05-AT WSZ resistors offer excellent pulse resistance, and the non-inductive AC05-NI WSZ devices are suitable for fast switching circuits. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, and tinned ends are compatible with lead-free (Pb) and lead containing (Pb) welding processes.

     WSZ lead resistors can be attached to the PCB together with other table mounting devices to improve pickup and placement processing, shorten assembly time and reduce costs. The devices can be used as buffer resistors and surge current limiting resistors for automotive and industrial electronics, energy meters, and white goods power precharge/discharge applications. In these applications, the peak power of the resistance 1 μs pulse load can reach 5 kW, and the resistance value ranges from 0.10 to 10 k.

     The AC05 WSZ and AC05-AT WSZ are coated with a strong, fire-resistant silicone cement and meet UL 94 V-0 flame retardant test standards for use under harsh operating conditions. The operating temperature of the resistor is -55 C to +250 C, and the winding structure meets the strict requirements of high temperature mechanical resistance and thermal shock.
