The WTC series of TDK supports a larger charging area

     TDK's thin graphics coil supports wireless charging of next-generation mobile devices. WCT series product development does not use traditional photolithography/etching technology. Instead, they combine the process technology and electroplating technology of TDK, and adopt the nano dispersion of organic compound polypyrrole developed by Achilles Corporation. Although the wireless charging coil is usually produced by winding wires, this method can be used to produce thick copper patterns on the film.

     Combined with TDK's proprietary magnetic materials, this process reduces the coil thickness to 0.76 mm, about one fifth of the traditional 3.8 mm diameter winding coil thickness. The use of TDK's original optimal coil pattern means that the WCT coil can cover a larger charging area, thus bringing greater user convenience.

     Wireless transmission of power to mobile devices such as smart phones has considerable market prospects. The demand for wireless charging in home, office, retail and automotive environments is growing. The diameter of the TDK coil is significantly smaller, which conforms to the Qi standard widely adopted by the Wireless Charging Alliance, opening up new opportunities for wireless charging layout. Previously, it was necessary to integrate three coils into the wireless charging system, but now only one coil is needed, thus realizing the miniaturization of the system.
