Connected Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) is an advanced communication technology designed to enable real-time communication between vehicles and their surroundings, other vehicles, pedestrians and infrastructure. Connected Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X) is an advanced communication technology designed to enable real-time communication between vehicles and their surroundings, other vehicles, pedestrians and infrastructure. The full name of C-V2X is Vehicle-to-Everything communication based on cellular network, which integrates three communication modes: direct communication mode, network communication mode and location service, with wider coverage, higher reliability and lower latency. Behind C-V2X technology are a number of key connectivity components that work together to enable efficient communication and data exchange with C-V2X. This article describes the C-V2X connection components and their functions.

 

1. On-board Unit (OBU) : The on-board unit is one of the core components in the C-V2X system and is installed On the vehicle. The onboard equipment includes communication modules, antennas, CY8C27643-24LFXI sensors, etc., to receive and transmit the signals required for C-V2X communication. On-board equipment needs to have high performance, low power consumption, anti-interference and other characteristics to ensure reliable communication connections. It is responsible for receiving and sending C-V2X messages and processing data from other vehicles, infrastructure and pedestrians. The on-board unit can also be integrated with other systems of the vehicle, such as the vehicle control system, to achieve a higher level of functionality.

 

2. Roadside Unit (RSU) : The infrastructure unit is another important component of the C-V2X system, installed on the road. It provides network connectivity and computing resources to support communication between vehicles and other C-V2X devices. Infrastructure units can be integrated with traffic facilities such as traffic lights and roadside cameras for more accurate traffic management and early warning.

 

3. Mobile networks: C-V2X systems use mobile networks as communication infrastructure to enable remote communication between vehicles and infrastructure. The mobile network provides high-speed data transmission and wide area coverage, enabling C-V2X to work in different environments such as cities and highways. At the same time, the mobile network can also support direct communication between vehicles to achieve lower latency message transmission.

 

4. Cloud Platform: The cloud platform of C-V2X systems is a distributed computing and storage system for processing and analyzing large amounts of data from vehicles and infrastructure. The cloud platform can provide real-time traffic information, road condition forecasts and traffic management recommendations to improve traffic efficiency and safety. In addition, the cloud platform can support remote management and software updates between vehicles and infrastructure.

 

5. Security authentication and encryption mechanism: C-V2X system has very high requirements for data security and privacy. Therefore, security authentication and encryption mechanisms are a crucial part of C-V2X connectivity components. These mechanisms protect the integrity, confidentiality, and authenticity of C-V2X messages against malicious attacks and data breaches.

 

6. Position and time synchronization system: The C-V2X system requires accurate position and time information to achieve accurate vehicle positioning and event synchronization. The Location and time synchronization system uses technologies such as Global Positioning systems (GPS) and Network Time Protocol (NTP) to provide high-precision location and time data to meet the requirements of C-V2X systems.
