The current shunt detector can realize the high-precision voltage sensing function on electric vehicles

     Diodes introduces a range of high-precision current shunt detectors for measuring small sensing volttimes over a wide Common-Mode voltage range on electric vehicles (EVs), known as the ZXCT21xQ series. Automotive applications for this series of single-stage instrumentation amplifiers include electrical measurement of load/rail current in brushless direct current (BLDC) motor controllers, electric compressors, high-power DC-DC converters, on-board chargers (OBC), battery management systems (OBC), ADAS power supplies, and mobile phone wireless chargers.

     The Zero-Drift cores of these devices (typical values ±100 NV /°C) have low compensating voltages (±30μV) and gain errors (±0.5% and ±0.8%), enabling electrical fluorimetric function of the shunt, with maximum voltages down to 10mV (full scale). Therefore, sensing resistors with small resistance values can be used to monitor large currents with high accuracy while reducing power losses during measurement. In addition, the low static current consumption of the series, up to 100μA, also helps to minimize power consumption.

     This series of current detectors has a 0-26V rail-to-rail common mode sensing voltage range (regardless of supply voltage), enabling high and low side precision current measurement, and its REF pin enables two-way current measurement. The ZXCT21xQ series is available in six voltage gain options (50V/V, 75V/V, 100V/V, 200V/V, 500V/V and 1000V/V), each with a separate ordering number and three accuracy versions.

     All ZXCT21xQ series units are AEC-Q100 Grade 1 compliant, manufactured in IATF 16949 certified facilities, and support PPAP documentation. The units operate from -40°C to +125°C and are packaged in the industry standard SOT363 package.
