The frequency control combination provides new surface mount crystals and oscillators

     To streamline the purchasing process for customers, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. The company's inductor division has expanded its frequency control line with new surface-mount crystals and oscillators to deliver smaller packages, wider value ranges and higher performance while reducing costs.

     Additions to the company's frequency control portfolio include six new families of crystals and three new families of oscillators. The new dimensions include a compact to 1.6mm x 1.2mm crystal and an oscillator starting at 2mm x 1.6mm. These space-saving designs reduce board space requirements and overall costs by up to 40% compared to the larger 5mm x 7mm packages currently available.

     The new crystal covers a frequency range of 12MHz to 60MHz, plus a tuning fork crystal, operating at a real-time clock frequency of 32.768kHz, with a frequency tolerance of ±20ppm or higher, and a temperature of 25 ° C. The frequency range of the oscillator is from 1MHz to 125MHz. These products have a temperature stability of ±25ppm or higher - a significant improvement over the temperature stability of existing ±50ppm crystals and ±100ppm oscillators - providing superior performance in demanding environments. Custom options for frequency stability, tolerance and operating temperature range are also available to meet specific customer needs.
