The Bourns PTVS1-240C-M PTVS diode uses advanced silicon process technology, has extremely high voltage handling capacity, and the diode's surface mount package makes this transient voltage protector stand out.
The Bourns PTVS1-240C-M offers 1 kA of surge handling at 8/20 µs, making it ideal for a wide range of systems with a high voltage DC bus architecture. These systems typically experience high-current switching transients and dynamic load behavior, requiring the use of absorbing circuits or protection of bus-powered subsystems. The introduction of Bourns® PTVS diodes provides a reliable solution for high-voltage applications that require robust protection.
The Bourns PTVS1-240C-M PTVS diode is a low leakage current device that consumes only 10 µA of current in standby mode and has a maximum breakdown voltage of 295 V, a repeated reverse operating voltage of 240 V and a precise clamp voltage of 340 V. Even at 10/350 µs, the device has A rated peak current of 200 A, and its voltage breakdown sensitivity to temperature is extremely linear, only 0.1% /°C. The diode's surface-mount package significantly reduces the PCB's board area and has the advantage of a lower inductance design compared to conventional through-hole mounted power TVS diodes.
