The latest generation of GSS ultra-low power CO2 sensor CozIR-LP3 is available

     British GSS manufacturer, a pioneer in solid-state gas sensors, has officially launched a new ultra-low power CO2 sensor, the CozIR-LP3. This model includes motherboard power management and allows the user to control the sensor's power consumption during measurement and when the sensor is inactive. Users can reduce the active current consumption of the sensor to less than 1μA, average power consumption is less than 3.5mW, and the sensor is small and offers a variety of installation methods.

     The CozIR-LP3 is based on GSS's proprietary solid-state non-dispersed Infrared (NDIR) LED technology, where sensors measure concentration levels by analyzing the amount of light absorbed by carbon dioxide gas. This LED technology enables the sensor to achieve unmatched low power consumption, making it suitable for a range of applications, including battery-powered and wirelessly connected devices.

     The CozIR-LP3 provides users with a wide range of flexibility to choose between UART or I2C control interfaces, PWM outputs, digital and analog outputs, and fail-safe digital alarm level monitoring. The CozIR-LP3 also provides designers with several fixation methods. The sensor has a low height profile and can be optionally mounted on top, below or via a PCB, making the CozIR-LP3 suitable for space-limited applications.

     The CozIR-LP3 is fully autonomous, with automatic self-check and automatic zeroing, enabling this infrared CO2 sensor to operate for extended periods of time without user intervention, making it ideal for use in unmanned applications such as air quality monitoring, iot devices and other portable battery-powered remote devices.

     Customers benefit from a low height form factor and small package while still achieving minimal power consumption. The new sensor comes with a range of measurement output types, alarm and control function options, making it a flexible sensor for the GSS to date.
