The new generation of OSram LED makes driving safer

     Osram Opto Semiconductors extends the Oslon Compact PL and Oslon Black Flat S series with new products in multiple chip versions. Designed for high beam and low light solutions, these products offer superior brightness values in their compact size, enabling higher performance and more design freedom for headlights. With significant improvements in the performance of the Oslon Black Flat and Oslon Compact product families, OSram not only points the way for the next few years, but also points to other advantages that headlight manufacturers can gain from it.

     Osram Opto Semiconductors has added a new member to the Oslon Compact PL product family, introducing a new generation of products ranging from single chip to 4-chip versions. Like the previous generation, these ceramic components are equipped with an electrical insulating board, which is more conducive to packaging heat dissipation. This allows the single-chip version to achieve an excellent brightness value of 395 lumens at 1A current and 1mm² chip area through higher current flow. The compact size of 1.9mmx 1.5mm x 0.73mm makes it ideal for ADB (Adaptive High Beam) systems and space-compact system designs.

     In addition, OSram Opto Semiconductors has expanded the Oslon Black Flat S series with single - and dual-chip versions. This special element based on the lead frame has a high pair ratio (> 1:200) and lower thermal resistance, can pass through higher current. The single-chip version has a brightness of up to 395 lumens at 1A current. The UX:3 chip's illuminated surface is square, making it easy for headlight manufacturers to complete optical designs. Oslon Black Flat S and Oslon Compact PL use different technology concepts to enable customers to choose the right LED/PCB combination for their system. Because the product family offers superior energy efficiency of up to 130 lumens/watt at 1A current, it is possible to use smaller headlights or even eliminate radiators in the future, while also reducing system costs.
