Toshiba Introduces Thin and Compact LDO Regulators to Help Reduce Device Size and Stabilize Power Line Output

     Toshiba Electronic Components & Storage Corporation announced the launch of the "TCR5RG" series consisting of 45 LDO regulators. The series are available in a thin, compact WCSP4F package. The new LDO regulators have an industry-leading high ripple rejection ratio, enabling more stable power for DC power lines in mobile devices such as wearables. 

     The TCR5RG series achieves an industry leading[1] 100dB (typ) high ripple rejection ratio[2] by combining a wide bandgap circuit, a low pass filter (allowing only very low frequencies to pass), and a low noise high speed operational amplifier. In addition, they feature low output voltage noise and high output voltage accuracy. These features combine to enable this family of regulators to improve power line stability.

     The series includes 45 products, the maximum output current is 500mA, and the output voltage range is between 0.9V and 5.0V, so that users can choose the most suitable output voltage according to their own applications. The new LDO regulators are available in a thin and compact WCSP4F package measuring 0.645mm x 0.645mm and are suitable for power line applications in cameras and small devices such as smartphones and wearables that require high-density mounting.
