Toshiba Memory Corporation introduces the XG6-P SSD series with higher storage capacity

     Toshiba Memory Corporation, a global leader in memory solutions, introduces the XG6-P solid-state drive (SSD) series, which is a derivative of the company's XG6 series. With a maximum storage capacity of 2,048GB and more than 30% higher sequential write bandwidth than its predecessor, the XG6-P series is suitable for high-end workstation PCS and gaming systems as well as cost-optimized data centers and composite infrastructures.

     The XG6-P SSD leverages Toshiba Memory Corporation's 96-layer BiCS FLASH™ 3D TLC (third-level Storage Unit) technology to deliver high storage capacity while ensuring ultra-thin size, high-speed storage and exceptional power efficiency. The XG6-P series uses PCIe Gen 3 x4 channel (rev.3.1a)/NVMe™ (rev.1.3a) interface to provide sequential read speeds of up to 3,180MB/s and random write speeds of 2,920MB/s. Random read speed and random write speed IOPS up to 355,000 and 365,000, respectively.

     In addition, the XG6-P SSD operates at less than 5 watts, achieving an excellent power/performance ratio in a dense, compact size. The new XG6-P series has twice the storage capacity of the XG6, writes faster than the XG5-P, and offers lower envelope power and a smaller form factor compared to data center grade XD5 products. The new family also offers additional M.2 NVMe storage options to further optimize client solutions or data center environments.

     The 2,048GB XG6-P SSD is available in a single-sided M.2 2280 (22 x 80 mm) form factor with a range of security options. Includes TCG Pyrite Version 1.0 support for non-self-encrypting hard disk (Non-SED) configurations and TCG Opal Version 2.01 support for self-encrypting hard disk (SED) configurations.
