Toshiba expands 60V Schottky Barrier diode product lineup

     Toshiba Electronic Components and Memory Devices Corporation introduced four new 60V Schottky Barrier Diode (SBD) products - CUHS15F60, CUHS20F60, CUHS15S60 and CUHS20S60. Suitable for high voltage rectifier power supply products, but also expanded its own product line.

     The CUHS15F60 and CUHS20F60 have low forward voltage and focus on the balance between forward voltage and reverse current application needs, while the CUHS15S60 and CUHS20S60 have ultra-low forward voltage products and focus on the needs of lower forward voltage applications. The CUHS15F60 and CUHS15S60 have an average rectified current of 1.5A, while the CUHS20F60 and CUHS20S60 have an average rectified current of up to 2A. So far, the average rectification current of the normal US2H package, 60V products is only 1A, and now 1.5A and 2.0A products are new members of the product line.

     Industrial devices such as servers and networking equipment are moving towards smaller volumes and lower power consumption. At present, 12V or 24V power supplies are mostly used, but in order to reduce energy consumption, a higher 48V power supply voltage is being considered. The new 60V product can be used on a 48V power supply, helping to reduce the size of industrial equipment and reduce its power consumption.

     The new product CUHS20F60 has a low forward voltage (typical value) of 0.41V, which is about 27% lower than the current model CUHS10F60, while the new product CUHS20S60 is an ultra-low forward voltage product with a forward voltage (typical value) of 0.35V[1]. This low forward voltage helps to improve the efficiency of the power supply.

     Because the performance of the power supply required by the market varies with the output voltage, output current and operating frequency, the SBD for rectifier current needs to be selected according to different conditions of use. With the continuous expansion of the product lineup, more and more products are available.

     Using the US2H package (package code: SOD-323HE), these products are small (2.5 mm x 1.4 mm x 0.6 mm (typical value)) and have low thermal resistance, meeting the market demand for smaller and thinner devices.
