Toshiba has introduced a new M4N Arm Cortex-M4 microcontroller for TXZ+ Family Premium series

     Toshiba Electronic Components and Memory Devices Co., Ltd. announced that it has begun mass production of 20 new microcontrollers for the M4N group. The M4N group is a new member of the TXZ+ family of advanced products and is manufactured using the 40nm process. The M4N group integrates Arm Cortex-M4 kernel with FPU, runs up to 200MHz, can integrate up to 2MB code flash memory and 32KB data flash memory, with 100,000 write cycle life. In addition, the new microcontroller offers a wealth of interface and communication options, such as Ethernet, CAN, and USB 2.0FS OTG controller with integrated PHY. The M4N group devices are suitable for office equipment, building and factory automation, and industrial network and information management equipment.

     In addition to UART, FUART, TSPI and I2C, the new M4N group products also support Quad/Octal SPI, audio interface (I2S) and external bus interface. In addition, these devices are able to allocate separate DMA and RAM to each peripheral circuit and, thanks to the bus matrix circuit configuration, ensure efficient data transfer through the bus master. Therefore, M4N devices CAN simultaneously support the independent parallel processing of Ethernet controller, CAN and USB controller.

     The high-speed, high-precision 12-bit analog/digital converter supports up to 24 analog-to-digital input channels, and the sampling hold time can be set individually, facilitating the device to support a wide variety of sensing applications. These devices have built-in ROM, RAM, ADC and clock self-diagnosis capabilities, which help customers pass IEC60730 class B functional safety certification.
