Toshiba has launched ultra-low capacitance TVS diodes that can protect high-frequency antennas of Internet of Things devices from ESD

     Toshiba Electronics Components and Memory Devices has announced the launch of an ultra-low capacitance TVS diode, DF2B6M4BSL, for high-frequency antennas. The diode can protect semiconductors and other electronic components from static electricity and noise, and inhibit signal deterioration. 

     High-frequency antennas used in radio communications such as Wi-Fi need to protect their internal electronics by suppressing high harmonic distortions. The DF2B6M4BSL has a total capacitance of just 0.15pF (maximum), which is the minimum Toshiba can currently offer and approximately 25% less than Toshiba's existing DF2B6M4ASL. The new TVS diode uses ultra-low capacitance to suppress high harmonic distortion and reduce the static electricity and noise that affect the components.

     High-frequency antennas sometimes use ESD suppressors, which can be replaced by DF2B6M4BSL. TVS diodes have higher protection performance than ESD suppressors and can reduce electrostatic voltage. In addition to enhancing the reliability of high-frequency antennas, DF2B6M4BSL is also suitable for ESD protection of signal lines.
