Toshiba has unveiled its first 200V transistor-output in-vehicle optocoupler

     Toshiba Electronic Components and Memory Devices announced the launch of a high-voltage transistor-output on-board optocoupler, "TLX9188," for signal isolation communication in automotive devices, including electric vehicles.

     The high voltage phototransistor of TLX9188 provides a collector to emitter voltage rating of 200V, which is 2.5 times higher than Toshiba's current TLX9185A and is the first Toshiba product to achieve this level [1]. By specifying the maximum value of the switching characteristics (turn-on time, turn-off time), the novel optocoupler can be used as a unidirectional switch. In addition, it can also be used in analog signal feedback circuits for 100V to 200V devices, helping to reduce application circuit costs.
