Toshiba introduced 40V/2.0A stepping motor driven IC without current induction resistance

Toshiba Electronic Components and Storage Devices Co., Ltd. announced that a new member "TB67S539FTG" was added to the stepping motor driven IC product line to provide constant current control functions for office automation equipment, commercial equipment and industrial equipment. This new drive IC can realize constant current motor control without current inductive resistor

     Toshiba Electronic Components and Memory Devices Co., Ltd. announced the addition of "TB67S539FTG" to its stepper motor drive IC product line, which aims to provide constant-current control capabilities for office automation equipment, commercial equipment and industrial equipment. This new drive IC can achieve constant current motor control without current induction resistance.


     The TB67S539FTG uses Toshiba's latest DMOSFET device [1] to achieve 40V motor output voltage rating and 2.0A motor output current rating [2]. The integrated electrofluometer enables constant current motor control and eliminates the need for external current sensing resistors. The H-bridge circuit for motor control uses an N channel/N channel configuration with a built-in charge pump circuit for output stage control. In addition, the new driver IC does not require an external capacitor (typically used to drive the gate of the H-bridge) because it is already integrated inside the product. This helps save space on printed circuit boards.

 

     The TB67S539FTG supports a 4.5V to 34V motor drive power supply, which is suitable for applications driven by 24V and 12V, including surveillance cameras and projectors. In order to reduce the heat dissipation during use, the TB67S539FTG is packaged in a compact QFN32 package. The drain source on resistance (high side+low side) of the output transistor is as low as 0.8 Ω (typical value), which is helpful to reduce heat generation.
