Toshiba introduces MOSFET gate driver switch IPD for automotive ECUs

     Toshiba Electronic Components and Storage Corporation announced the launch of the grid driver switch IPD "TPD7107F". The product can be used to control the on-off of the supply current of the on-board control unit (ECU) such as junction box and body control module. The TPD7107F adopts the WSON10A package and reduces the use of peripheral devices such as capacitors due to the built-in booster circuit. The new IPD consumes only 3μA of power in standby mode (maximum).

     The TPD7107F uses Toshiba's automotive grade low-on-resistance N-channel MOSFET[2] for high-side switches with load currents. As an electronic switch, the new IPD avoids contact wear on mechanical relays, helps reduce the size and power consumption of on-board ECUs, while also providing maintenance-free features.

     Support the high reliability required by the on-board ECU by providing enhanced features (self-protection and various built-in diagnostic functions output to the microcontroller). This new IPD is capable of monitoring the operation of the load and the MOSFETs connected to it. When abnormal operation occurs, it can quickly shut down the MOSFET[3] to reduce the load on the MOSFET.
