Toshiba launches miniature lens type CCD linear image sensor for A3 multifunction printer

     Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation announced that it has released the miniature lens type CCD linear image sensor "TCD2726DG", which enables high-speed scanning of A3 multifunction printers.

     Currently, there is a growing demand for A3 multifunction printers with higher scan speeds. The TCD2726DG can improve the performance through a higher clock rate to meet the demand: its data rate is 100MHz (50MHz × 2ch), while the data rate of Toshiba's current sensors is 70MHz (35MHz × 2ch).

     To avoid the negative effects of increased electromagnetic interference (EMI) caused by faster clock speeds, the new sensor employs a clock generator circuit and a CCD driver with a lower pin count. This reduces EMI, timing adjustment work, and the number of peripheral components for customers, facilitating system development.
