Toshiba launches photovoltaic output optocouplers for isolation solid relay

     Toshiba Electronic Component and Storage Device Co., Ltd. announced that the launch of new photovoltaic output optocoupler ("photovoltaic coupling")-"TLP3910", which is suitable for driving high-voltage power MOSFETs. Implement isolation solid -state relay (SSR)function.

     SSR is a semiconductor relay with optoelectronic silicon, photoelectric crystal tube, or optical crystal gates. Photovoltaic coupling is an optical relay that has a built -in optical device but does not have MOSFETs that perform switching functions. When configured the isolation SSR design, the photovoltaic coupling device is used with MOSFET, and it can easily achieve high -voltage and large current switches that are difficult to support for light relay.

     By improving the built -in discharge circuit, a typical off -time shutdown time of 0.1MS can be achieved, about 1/3 of TLP3906, about 1/30 of TLP191B, thereby achieving a faster working speed.

     TLP3910 is the first photovoltaic coupler with a minimum isolation voltage of Toshiba to 5000VRMS [2], while maintaining the basic performance of TLP191B and TLP3906.
