Toshiba provides TLP5212 IGBT gate drive photocoupler

     Toshiba TLP5212 IGBT gate Drive Optocoupler is an intelligent gate drive (SGD) coupler with IGBT desaturation detection, isolated fault state feedback, soft gate shutdown, active Miller clamp, and undervoltage latching (UVLO) functions. It is packaged with 10.3mm x 10.0mm x 2.1mm SO16L, and the operating temperature range is -40°C to +110°C.

     The device is designed to be used as a general purpose gate drive coupler to protect the IGBT from overcurrent generated in inverter applications. The TLP5212 is also well suited for a variety of applications, from inverter circuits used in industrial equipment, such as universal inverters and power regulators in solar systems, to residential devices such as UPS and home battery storage systems.

     The TLP5212 integrates two infrared light-emitting diodes (leds) and two high-gain and high-speed photodetector ics. The device can achieve high current, high speed output control and fault state feedback, and achieve electrical isolation between the primary and secondary side.
