Two - color display backlight status indicator

     OMC released a dual-state contour backlight that combines the two colors of the transmitter in a single contour backlight, allowing designers to utilize a single backlight to indicate the state exceptionally clearly, rather than simply turning a monochromatic backlight on or off. The backlight provides clean, bright and clear lighting to the display, making the human-machine interface easy to understand.

     As rugged components with a long product life, they can be used in a variety of applications and industries, including harsh environment applications in the petrochemical industry (explosive gas detector systems, oil pipeline valve display systems, gas and electricity metering) as well as research, instrumentation and medical applications (life support system displays, imaging applications, measuring instrument displays).

     Backlights bring advantages to industrial applications where color backlights have not yet become a practical solution for displays because they can cost-effectively address the additional cost and reliability of adding multiple leds to a backlight when custom sizing is required. They are easy to drive, take up less space in the design, and offer cost-effective solutions for even small to medium-sized needs.

     These two colors clearly indicate status and provide a way to attract attention, even from a slanted Angle. Temperature status is a common application where the use of red LED emitters and green LED emitters can quickly "switch to red" warnings. The backlight has separate addressable LED transmitters and available colors range from super bright blue, four green, three yellow, orange, three red to super bright white.
