U-blox introduces the u‑blox ZED-F9K high precision multi-frequency GNSS module

U-blox announced the launch of the u‑blox ZED-F9K High precision multi-frequency GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) module with built-in inertial sensors. This module combines the latest generation of GNSS receiver technology, signal processing algorithms and calibration services to deliver centimeter-level accuracy in seconds to meet the evolving needs of the ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and autonomous driving markets.

     U-blox announced the launch of the u‑blox ZED-F9K High precision multi-frequency GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) module with built-in inertial sensors. This module combines the latest generation of GNSS receiver technology, signal processing algorithms and calibration services to deliver centimeter-level accuracy in seconds to meet the evolving needs of the ADAS(Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and autonomous driving markets.

 

     The ZED-F9K High Precision inertial navigation module is based on the u-blox F9 technology platform. Compatibility with the latest GNSS correction services further improves positioning accuracy by compensating for ionospheric and other errors. The multi-band, multi-galaxy RTK (Real Time Kinematics) receiver module receives GNSS signals from all orbiting GNSS galaxies. Due to the increase in the number of visible satellites, positioning efficiency can be improved even if the signal is blocked, while a greater variety of satellite signals can be accepted, thus providing faster convergence times in the event of signal interruption

 

     The inertial sensors integrated into the module continuously monitor the route changes of the moving vehicle and continue to provide lane precision when the satellite signal is partially or completely blocked, such as when the vehicle is located in a parking lot, tunnel, or built-up metropolitan area. When satellite signals are available again, the module combines inertial sensor data with GNSS signals to provide a solution with fast convergence time and accuracy to the millimeter level.

 

     By combining recent developments in GNSS technology, calibration services and inertial sensing, this module delivers up to ten times more positioning performance than standard positioning solutions. By consistently providing accurate lane position information, the ZED-F9K meets the needs of ADAS and autonomous driving applications, as well as headsets and advanced navigation systems. The module's positioning accuracy and low latency also make it ideal for automotive Oems and frontline operators developing V2X communication systems. By constantly sharing location with other vehicles, V2X systems will help improve overall road safety and reduce traffic congestion.
