The MAX32672 is an ultra-low-power, cost-effective, highly integrated, and reliable 32-bit microcontroller designed to enable complex sensor processing without compromising battery life. It combines a flexible and versatile power management unit with a powerful Arm Cortex-M4 processor and floating-point unit (FPU). The MAX32672 also provides a legacy design with a simple and cost-optimal upgrade path from 8-bit or 16-bit microcontrollers.

ADI's MAX32672 is an ultra-low-power, cost-effective, highly integrated, and reliable 32-bit microcontroller designed to enable complex sensor processing without compromising battery life. It combines a flexible and versatile power management unit with a powerful Arm Cortex-M4 processor and floating-point unit (FPU). The MAX32672 also provides a legacy design with a simple and cost-optimal upgrade path from 8-bit or 16-bit microcontrollers.


The device integrates 1mb of Flash and 200kb of SRAM to house application and sensor code. Error correction coding (ECC) is implemented across Flash, RAM, and cache to ensure very reliable execution of code even in the most hostile environments. Outage detection ensures normal operation during power-off and power-on events and unexpected power transients.


The MAX32672 Evaluation Kit (MAX32672EVKIT#) provides a platform to evaluate the capabilities of the MAX32672 microcontroller, which is a small, highly reliable, ultra-low power, 32-bit microcontroller. The MAX32672 is a safe and economical solution for motion/motor control, industrial sensors and battery powered medical devices.

-   Internal low power 7.3728 MHz and ultra low power 80 kHz oscillators

-   16 MHz to 32 MHz oscillator, 32.768 kHz oscillator (external crystal required)

-   External clock input for the CPU, LPUART, and LPTIMER

● Power management maximizes uptime for battery applications

-   53.2μA /MHz ACTIVE at 0.9V up to 12MHz (CoreMark)

-   61.5μA /MHz is active at 1.1V up to 100MHz

-   2.94μV (DD) = 1.8V Full memory retention power in BACKUP mode

-   350na ultra low power RTC at V(DD) = 1.8V

-   Wake up from LPUART or LPTMR

● The optimal combination of peripherals provides platform scalability

-   Up to 42 universal I/O pins

-   Up to three SPI master/times (up to 50 Mbps)

-   Up to three 4-wire UART

-   Up to three I(2)C master-slave 3.4Mbps high-speed

-   An I(2)S primary/secondary digital audio interface
