Ultra-thin AC-DC power supply with conduction, convection and fan cooling options for BF class medical and industrial equipment

     XP Power officially introduces a compact, ultra-thin (25.4mm) AC-DC power CCR series with flexible cooling options and power ratings from 110W to 420W to make more efficient use of space within end devices. Approved for medical and industrial applications, its high-efficiency, high-power density modules feature a baseboard cooling design that ensures effective thermal management and quiet operation of noise-sensitive applications, even in sealed enclosure environments. These features make the power supply last longer and require less maintenance and service, which can significantly reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO).

     The CCR series meets the medical application standards of IEC60601-1 Edition 4 and provides primary to secondary insulation at 4000VAC (2 x MOPPs) and 1 x MOOP insulation at (1800VAC) primary to ground and (1500VAC) secondary to ground. Combined with low ground (<300µA) and patient (<75µA) leakage currents, the CCR series is ideal for easy integration into BF-class medical devices, including respiratory care, imaging, patient monitoring, and patient treatment. Industrial applications include fabrication control, test & measurement, and industrial printing.

     The CCR series offers a wide input voltage range of 85 to 264VAC, is available worldwide, and covers common monorail outputs from 12VDC to 54VDC. Depending on the cooling option selected - convection, conduction or forced air cooling - the power ratings are CCR200 (110W/170W/200W), CCR300 (160W/250W/300W) and CCR420 (280W/350W/420W) respectively.

     All models have overvoltage protection, overload protection and short circuit protection, with tripping and restart functions as standard, and overtemperature protection with automatic reset. The CCR series meets Class B conduction and radiation standards and requires no external filtration. The product offers 94% high efficiency, minimizes waste heat, operates at ambient temperatures from -40°C to +80°C, and is properly derated above +50°C.
