United SiC, the world's leading manufacturer of silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductors, announced that it has launched an upgraded version of FET Jet CalculatorTM. This new version (the second version) significantly simplifies the selection process of SiC FETs and Schottky diodes and the analysis of all power related results. With more available topology architectures, FET Jet CalculatorTM can now support a wider range of power applications. Whether it is an engineer who is using SiC devices for the first time or an experienced designer who is looking for the most suitable and optimal SiC devices for his own design, it can easily use the United SiC FET devices.
The new version of FET Jet CalculatorTM can help engineers determine the best UnitedSiC devices in the design of AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/DCiso power supplies. At the same time, it adds real-time bar graph results representing loss and efficiency data, and can also display the best grid driver and buffer recommendations. Finally, once the preferred SiC solution is determined, all input/output design information can be easily downloaded in pdf format.
The new version of FET Jet CalculatorTM is similar to the first version. Users can select the application function and topology architecture, input the details of design parameters, and then the tool will automatically calculate the switching current, efficiency and loss, and can classify by conduction, conduction and turn off. All FETs and Schottky diodes of UnitedSiC can be selected from the classification table, including the latest fourth generation 750V devices. If the selection is inappropriate, the tool will also issue a warning, allowing engineers to quickly find the ideal design solution.
