In ADAS and AD systems, high -performance processors need to have ultra -high processing speed and processing capabilities in order to evaluate data from different sensors, control the actuators, and display information on the display. The power supply voltage of these processors does not exceed 1 V, but the current is required to reach a double -digit size. PMIC (Power Management IC) is used as a power supply and provides the required large current by combining with multi -phase output. The key components that stabilize these currents are the power sensor at the output end. Figure 1 shows a typical topology for the 8 -phase PMIC unit for power supply to the processor.
To meet all the above requirements, the TDK's CLT32 series new power inductors use innovative design principles. This involves a solid copper coil formed by special iron magnetic plastic composite materials. Because the coil magnetic core and the shell are formed at the same time, it can bring huge advantages.
Through innovative design concepts, the size of the CLT32 series electrical sensor is only 3.2 x 2.5 mm2, and the height is only 2.5 mm. The required installation space is less than a quarter of the similar competition. The key factor is that multiple power inductors can be used in the PMIC topology at the same time, which significantly reduces the size of the PCB circuit board.
The CLT32 series electricizer is also better than other technologies in terms of efficiency and saturated current drift at different temperatures. The range of inductance value is 17 nH to 440 nH, the rated working current is 10 A to 45 A, the saturated current is as high as 60 A, the working temperature can be available. It is 165 ° C, which is very suitable for car applications. In addition, with a wide frequency range of up to 10 MHz, this solid and durable inductor is also very suitable for GAN semiconductor applications.
