Verizon 45 W USB-PD Fast charger Infineon EZ-PD™ PAG1 AC-DC power solution

     Infineon Technologies announced the successful commercial availability of its EZ-PD™ PAG1 AC-DC power solution on Verizon USB-PD fast charger. The new Verizon charger, made by Xentris Wireless, can quickly charge mobile devices and provide up to 45 W of output power to compatible devices for ultra-fast charging. EZ-PD PAG1 is a dual-chip AC-DC power solution with integrated USB-PD capabilities to help miniaturize chargers. These powerful chargers work with USB-C charging cables to charge both advanced and traditional devices equipped with USB-C ports.

     David Bailey, CEO of Xentris Wireless, said: "The EZ-PD PAG1 chipset, consisting of a synchronous rectifier controller and a PD controller, is ideal for high-performance AC-DC chargers. This complete solution can significantly save PCB(printed circuit board) space and BOM (Bill of Materials) costs, allowing us to design more powerful and smaller chargers. This charger is ideal for users who need to quickly charge their mobile devices."

     Infineon's EZ-PD PAG1 series integrates primary and secondary controllers and can be used in combination with gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon (Si) power devices for increased power density. These advantages enable system designers to introduce more differentiated chargers while reducing the overall BOM cost for designs in the 18 W to 65 W power levels.
