Vishay Launches Single ESD Protection Diodes for Commercial and Automotive Applications

    Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the launch of a new bidirectional asymmetric (BiAs) single path ESD protection diode - VCUT0714BHD1, packaged by a new small side pad DFN1006-2A that is easy to absorb solder. Vishay Semiconductors VCUT0714BHD1 saves more space than SOT packaging solutions, has low capacitance and leakage current, and can protect high-speed data lines from transient voltage signals.

     The recently released diode is a standard ESD diode, with a working voltage of - 7 V~+14 V or - 14 V~+7 V, and a typical load capacitance of only 8 pF, which is suitable for commercial application port protection. VCUT0714BHD1 also provides AEC-Q101 certified devices for automotive applications. Because DFN1006-2A package leads are short and small in size, the line inductance of the diode is very low, which can clamp fast transient signals such as ESD spikes to achieve minimum overshoot or undershoot.

     The maximum leakage current of the protective diode is less than 0.1 under the working voltage of 7 V or 14 V μ A； Typical breakdown voltage under 1 mA reverse current is 7.3 V or 14.5 V; The maximum clamping voltage at 3.6 A or 2 A peak pulse current is 15 V or 30 V, respectively. VCUT0714BHD1 single data line transient protection achieves ± 25 kV (contact) and ± 30 kV (air) discharge specified in IEC 61000 ‑ 4 ‑ 2. The humidity sensitivity (MSL) of the device reaches Grade 1 of J-STD-020 standard, and the fire resistance rating reaches UL 94 V-0.

     The protective diode complies with RoHS and Vishay green standards, is halogen-free, and supports automatic optical inspection (AOI) of automotive systems. The welding quality can be checked by standard visual inspection equipment, without X-ray.
