Vishay extends the TNPW e3 series of high stability thin film flat plate resistors

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the introduction of a new device in the small 0201 form factor, expanding its TNPW e3 family of automotive grade high stability thin film flat chip resistors. With a temperature coefficient (TCR) as low as 25 ppm/K and a tolerance of only 0.1%, this resistor can be used to improve the accuracy of automotive, industrial, test measurement and medical devices, except for mobile and wearable devices.

     The device is suitable for SMT processing and automatic welding in automatic SMD assembly systems. Resistors are halogen-free, RoHS compliant, pure tin plating compatible with lead free (Pb) and lead containing (Pb) welding processes. The small device complies with the AEC-Q200 standard and has excellent long-term stability, such as a maximum resistance change of < 0.05 % in 1000 hours at rated power P70, making it ideal for space-constrained applications such as automotive and industrial sensors and electronic modules, smartphones and tablets, smartwatches and fitness trackers.

     The complete TNPW e3 series now includes 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206 and 1210 form elements with resistance values from 10 to 3.01 M. The new resistor has excellent moisture resistance (85 °C; 85% relative humidity), sulfur resistance in accordance with ASTM B 809, operating temperature range -55 °C to +155 °C, even in harsh environmental conditions, to ensure extremely stable performance.
