Vishay has introduced A new compact 1500 content-size automotive grade IHTH plug-in inductor with a saturation current of 156 A

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has announced the launch of two new automotive grade IHTH high-current, high-temperature plug-in inductors in small 1500 dimensions -- the IHTH-1500MZ-5A and IHTH-1500TZ-5A. Both inductors are suitable for automotive applications, with Vishay Dale IHTH-1500MZ-5A (0.47µH to 4.7µH) saturation currents up to 156 A and a very low typical DCR of 0.19mW. The saturation current of IHTH-1500TZ-5A (6.8µH ~ 100µH) is 106 A, and the typical DCR value is as low as 1.1 mW. Both inductors can operate continuously at a high temperature of +155 °C.

     The newly released device is based on IHLP technology in a small package with a shielded composite structure and has dimensions of 38.1mm x 38.1mm x 19.81mm. The IHTH-1500MZ-5A and IHTH-1500TZ-5A can be used to replace their larger and more expensive counterparts, It is suitable for high current filtering of 12 V / 48 V hybrid vehicle (HEV) and light hybrid vehicle (MHEV) output converters, off-road diesel engine injection drives, catalytic pulse-width modulated heaters and electric motors.

     The IHTH-1500MZ-5A and IHTH-1500TZ-5A can handle high transient current spikes without saturation, and the housing has excellent heat dissipation performance. The inductor meets RoHS and Vishay green standards, is halogen-free, and has high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical vibration.
