Vishay has introduced a new 40V n-channel MOSFET half-bridge power stage

     Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a new 40 V n-channel MOSFET half-bridge power stage that is available for white goods as well as industrial, medical, healthcare, healthcare, and telecommunications applications. Vishay Siliconix SiZ240DT integrates high - and low-side MOSFETs in a compact PowerPAIR 3.3mm x 3.3mm package. Provides best-in-class on-resistance and the ability to multiply on-resistance by gate charge - key Quality indicator (FOM) power conversion applications for MOSFETs.

     The two TrenchFET MOSFETs in the SiZ240DT are internally connected in a half-bridge configuration. The SiZ240DT's channel-1 MOSFETs (commonly used as control switches in synchronous buck converters) provide a maximum on-resistance of 8.05mΩ at 10 V and 12.25mΩ at 4.5 V. Channel 2 MOSFETs (typically synchronous switches) have an on-resistance of 8.41mΩ at 10 V and 13.30mΩ at 4.5 V. These values are 16% lower than the nearest competitor. When combined with low gate charges of 6.9 nC (channel 1) and 6.5 nC (channel 2), the resulting on-resistance multiplied by gate charge FOM is 14% lower than the next best device, providing higher efficiency for fast switching applications.

     The dual MOSFETs announced today are 65% smaller than dual devices in 6mm x 5mm packages and are among the most compact integrated products on the market. In addition to half-bridge power stages for synchronous step-down, DC/DC conversion, it offers designers a space-saving solution for motor control in vacuum cleaners, drones, power tools, home/office automation and non-implantable medical devices, wireless chargers and switching mode power supplies in telecommunications equipment and servers.

     The integrated MOSFETs feature a wireless internal structure that minimizes parasitic inductance, enabling high frequency switching, which reduces the size of the magnetic device and the final design. The optimized Qgd/Qgs ratio reduces noise, which further enhances the switching characteristics of the device. SiZ240DT is 100% Rg and UIS tested, RoHS compliant, and halogen-free.
