Vishay introduces AC and pulse film capacitors for electric vehicles

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the launch of a new range of automotive grade AC and pulse metallized polypropylene film capacitors, the MKP385e, for hybrid and electric vehicles. The Vishay BCcomponents MKP385e series has a maximum operating temperature of +125 C (voltage derating observation), complies with IEC 60384-17 and AEC-Q200 standards (D version), and tests temperature, humidity and bias (THB) at 60 C and 93 % RH for up to 56 days at rated voltage.

     Radial potting capacitors ensure highly stable pulse strength and ripple current performance under harsh environmental conditions, extending service life. The compact package increases density and is suitable for on-board and inductive charging systems, battery management, keyless entry systems, buffer circuits, resonant converters and power supplies.

     The MKP385e series offers eight voltage ratings from 400 VDC to 2500 VDC. Capacitors with rated voltage below 630 VDC adopt single structure, and above 630 VDC adopt series thin film structure. Capacitors have rated capacities of 0.001 µF to 15 µF, ESR as low as 4 m, and ripple current up to 19.3 A. And the device complies with RoHS standard.
