Vishay introduces a new generation of miniature infrared receiver modules for IR remote control applications

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the launch of three new generation series miniature infrared (IR) receiver modules for IR remote control applications -TSOP93xxx, TSOP94xxx and TSOP98xxx. Vishay Semiconductors TSOP93xxx, TSOP94xxx and TSOP98xxx series devices improve the sensitivity of infrared signals in dark environments and complex light source interference environments, with better RF noise suppression and excellent pulse width accuracy.

     These receivers can be used in TVS, set-top boxes (STBS), sound systems, air conditioners, video projectors, cameras, video game systems and other products. The new devices enhance the resistance of these products' remote control functions to a variety of interference, such as mercury lamp infrared radiation and circuit board Wi-Fi antenna RF radiation. In addition, the module improves pulse width accuracy, reduces bit error rates for almost any encoding, and the device is insensitive to power supply voltage changes and ripple noise.

     To simplify the design, the receiver integrates the light detector, preamplifier circuit, and infrared filter in a 3-pin epoxy Minimold (TSOP93xxx), Mold (TSOP94xxx), or Minicast (TSOP98xxx) package. Each family of devices has carrier frequencies ranging from 30 kHz to 56 kHz, and there are five versions of automatic gain control (AGC) for short and long pulse coding. Receiver supply voltage is 2.0V to 3.6V, typical supply current is 0.37mA, RoHS and Vishay green standard, halogen-free.
