Vishay introduces a surface mount four quadrant silicon PIN photodiode with a peak sensitivity wavelength of 950 nm

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc announces the launch of a new standard surface-mount package automotive grade four-quadrant silicon PIN photodiode, the K857PH, from its optoelectronics division. The Vishay Semiconductors K857PH has a high sensitivity, only 0.1 percent crosstalk, and virtually no intersegment tolerance for a wide variety of sensing control applications in the automotive, consumer electronics, and industrial markets.

     The released device is AEC-Q101 certified and uses four monolithic PIN diodes -- each with a 1.6mm ² photosensitive area -- integrated in a 4.72mm x 4.72mm x 0.8mm surface-mount package (positive mount). K857PH package side opacity, eliminate the influence of stray light on photodiode irradiation, excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The OPTICAL RESPONSE linearity OF THE DEVICE is suitable for small signal detection in various applications such as automotive rain/daylight sensors, industrial automation systems, laser collimation and virtual reality.

     Based on the homogeneous technology, the photodiode has a photosensitivity range of 710 nm to 1100 nm, a peak sensitivity wavelength of 950 nm, Ee = 1 mW/cm², and a wavelength of 940 nm, and the segment reverse photocurrent is 11 µA. The half-strength Angle of the device is ±60° and the operating temperature is -40 ˚C to +110 ˚C. The K857PH meets RoHS and Vishay green standards, is halogen-free, can be stored in the workshop for 186 hours, and has moisture sensitivity rating up to the J-STD-020 standard.
