Vishay Intertechnology, announced, Introduced four automotive devices in the eSMP series SMF (DO-219AB) package -VS-E7FX0112-M3, VS-E7FX0212-M3, VS-E7FX0112HM3 and VS-E7FX0212HM3, Further expand its lineup of seventh generation 1200 V FRED Pt ultrafast recovery rectifier platforms. 1 A and 2 A rectifiers are optimized for industrial and automotive applications, and in their class not only achieve a trade-off between reverse recovery charge (Qrr) and forward voltage drop, but also offer lower junction capacitance and shorter recovery times
The rectifiers include VS-E7FX0112-M3 and VS-E7FX0212-M3, as well as VS-E7FX0112HM3 and VS-E7FX0212HM3 according to the AEC-Q101 standard. To reduce switching losses and increase efficiency, these devices incorporate features such as fast recovery times as low as 45 ns, Qrr as low as 105 nC (typical), forward voltage drop as low as 1.45 V, and junction capacitance as low as 3.0 pF. The reliable rectifier delivers up to 21 A non-repetitive peak surge current in a compact package with dimensions of 4.2 mm x 1.4 mm, thickness as low as 1.08 mm and minimum creepage distance of just 2.2 mm.
The device can be used as a clamping, buffering and continuing diode for flyback auxiliary power supplies, as well as a high-frequency rectifier for boot-up driver functions, while providing desaturation protection for the latest fast switching IGBTs and high voltage Si/SiC MOSFETs. Typical applications of VS-E7FX0112-M3, VS-E7FX0112HM3, VS-E7FX0212-M3 and VS-E7FX0212HM3 include industrial drives and tools, electric vehicle (EV) on-board chargers and motors, power generation and energy storage systems, As well as the uk converter and industrial LED SEPIC circuit.
The flat structure of the rectifier ensures system reliability and stability without compromising performance through platinum doping lifetime control, while the optimized stored charge and low recovery current minimize switching losses and reduce power consumption. The device is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, moisture sensitive to J-STD-020 Class 1, and can operate at +175 °C.
