Vishay introduces new high-voltage ENYCAP energy storage capacitors for harsh environments

Vishay has announced the launch of a new range of high-voltage ENYCAP electrolytic double-layer energy storage capacitors, the 230 EDLC-HV ENYCAP, for energy harvesting and power backup applications in harsh environments. The Vishay BCcomponents 230 EDLC-HV ENYCAP capacitor is the industry's first capacitor with a service life of 2000 hours at +85C and a maximum rated voltage of 3.0 V

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced the introduction of a new line of high-voltage ENYCAP electrolytic double-layer energy storage capacitors, the 230 EDLC-HV ENYCAP, for energy harvesting and power backup applications in harsh environments. The Vishay BCcomponents 230 EDLC-HV ENYCAP capacitor is the industry's first capacitor with a service life of 2000 hours at +85C and a maximum rated voltage of 3.0 V.

 

     The long service life of the devices released by Vishay is twice that of standard electrolytic double-layer capacitors, enabling maintenance-free operation and greater design flexibility. With its high voltage rating, the capacitor can be used in a variety of industrial, renewable energy and automotive applications, including smart meters, handheld electronics, robotics, solar panels, electronic door lock systems, and emergency lighting.

 

     The 230 EDLC-HV ENYCAP capacitors are available in 8 small sizes, ranging from 16mmx20mm to 18mmx40mm, capable of delivering high power densities up to 4.1Wh/kg and capacitance values from 20F to 60F. These RoHS-compliant devices feature fast charging and discharging performance and are available in a through-hole version.
