Vishay introduces new through-hole inductors in small 1500 form factor with 420 A saturation current

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. introduces a new through-hole inductor in a small 1500 form factor, the IHXL-1500VZ-51, with a saturation current of up to 420 A with a 30 % reduction in inductance value. Vishay Dale IHXL-1500VZ-51 is suitable for renewable energy, industrial and communication applications, with a very low typical DCR value of only 0.12 mW, and can work continuously at high temperature of +155 °C.

     The recently announced device features a shielded composite structure in a 38.1 mm x 38.1 mm x 21.9 mm package and supports up to 150 A continuous DC current. In addition to switching regulators, differential mode and boost power factor correction chokes, communication base station power supplies, the IHXL-1500VZ-51 can also be used as a replacement for high current input filters, DC/DC converters in high temperature industrial, solar and wind power applications large inductor solution.

     The IHXL-1500VZ-51 can handle high transient current spikes without hard saturation and 20% soft saturation at 195% rated current. The devices are RoHS and Vishay Green compliant, halogen free, and highly resistant to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock.
