Vishay Intertechnology announced that its Optoelectronic Products Department launched a new reflective optical sensor VCNT2025X01, which has passed AEC-Q101 certification and can be used in automobiles, smart homes, industrial and office equipment. Vishay Semiconductors VCNT2025X01 installs infrared emitters, silicon phototransistor detectors and solar blocking filters in 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm x 0.6 mm small surface mount packages. The thickness is lower than that of the previous generation solutions, which improves performance, current transfer ratio (CTR) and operating temperature.
The recently released device has a compact structure, with the emission light source and detector on the same plane. The analog output signal generated by the sensor phototransistor depends on the amount of light reflected by the sensor detection object emitted by the IR LED. The built-in daylight blocking filter of the sensor can greatly suppress the stray ambient light, thereby improving the signal to noise ratio. The firm FAM package of the device reduces crosstalk, and the side pad that is easy to absorb solder is convenient for optical inspection of solder joints.
VCNT2025X01 is 0.6 mm thick, 0.2 mm lower than the previous generation devices. It is a space saving solution, which can be used for optical switches of vehicle electronic systems, office equipment and household appliances, optical coding of industrial automation systems, and paper detection of printers and copiers. In these application scenarios, the operating temperature of the device can reach+110 ° C, compared with+80 ° C for similar competing devices.
The detection distance of the sensor is 0.3 mm to 4.5 mm, the transmitter wavelength is 940 nm, the typical output current is 6.6 mA, and the typical current transmission ratio under test conditions is 33%, 24% higher than that of the previous generation solution, and 23% higher than that of the nearest competitor sensor. The humidity sensitivity level (MSL) of the device is level 3, and reflow soldering in accordance with J-STD-020 can be used. The device complies with RoHS and Vishay green standards and is halogen-free.
