Vishay introduces small signal Schottky and switching diodes in subcompact packages

     Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has announced the availability of new surface-mount small signal diodes in a subcompact wettable wing DFN1006-2A plastic package -- the 40 V BAS40L Schottky diode and 100 V BAS16L. Both diodes save space and improve heat dissipation for automotive and industrial applications, and both are available as AEC-Q101 certified devices.

 
     The recently released diode size is only 1 mm x 0.6 mm x 0.45 mm. Compared with the traditional SOD/T packaging device, the plate area is reduced by 90%, the height is reduced by 50% and the power consumption is improved. To provide overvoltage protection, such as electrostatic discharge, the BAS40L is equipped with a PN junction protection ring.

     BAS40L and BAS16L moisture sensitivity rating (MSL) to J-STD-020 standard 1, fire resistance rating to UL 94 V-0. The diode meets RoHS and Vishay green standards, is halogen-free, and supports automatic optical inspection (AOI) for automotive systems. Welding quality can be checked by standard visual inspection equipment without X-ray.
