Vishay introduces the Automotive Grade 2525 with ultra-thin, high-current inductors

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the introduction of its new automotive class 2525 ultra-thin, high-current inductor, the iHRD-2525GG-5A. The Vishay Dale IHLD-2525GG-5A replaces the two inductors required for automotive Class D audio amplifiers with a single device, reducing the space required for the circuit board and reducing the number of components, and THD performance is superior to other types of inductors.

     To provide noise filtering for Class D amplifiers, the AEC-Q200 certified device, released today, combines two IHLP inductors in a small package operating at +155 °C. The IHLD-2525GG-5A features an optimized design that outperforms other solutions for high quality sound and low distortion, and low coupling minimizes crosslick-on-integrated inductors.

     The high efficiency IHLD-2525GG-5A inductor has a carrier operating frequency of up to 2.1 MHz, a typical DCR of 7.06mΩ to 154 mΩ, an inductance of 1.0µH to 22µH, and a rated current of 13.0A, which can handle high transient current spikes without saturation. The dual inductor package features a 100% lead-free (Pb) shielded composite structure that reduces noise to ultra-low levels and provides strong resistance to thermal shock, moisture and mechanical vibration.
